Following a decision on personal grounds of Ms Françoise Barutel to resign from her functions as judge of the UPC Court of Appeal, the Administrative Committee, with opinion from the Advisory Committee, has decided on the succession to Ms Barutel’s post and nominated Mr Emmanuel Gougé to be appointed as judge of the UPC Court of Appeal. 

The appointment of Mr Gougé will become effective as of 9 September 2024, following giving up of his private practice.

Ms Barutel will hold office at the UPC Court of Appeal until 8 September 2024.
