Oath taking of judges of the Unified Patent Court Ms Marjolein Visser took oath in Paris on 4 March 2025 In accordance with Article 6 of the UPC Statute and Article 25 of the Service Regulations, judges of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) are required to take an oath in open court before officially taking up their functions.On 4 March 2025, Ms Marjolein Visser fulfilled this formal requirement in a ceremony presided over by Ms Florence Butin, President of the Court of First Instance, alongside Mr Michel Abello, technically qualified judge. The presence of a TQJ reflected the essential role of technical expertise within the Court.The ceremony was also attended by Ms Mélanie Bessaud, judge at the Munich section of the central division and Ms Margaux Grondein, clerk of the Paris central division.
