Court Court of First Instance Judge Full Bio Andrea Postiglione studied law at the University of Rome and at the University of Hamburg. He qualified as a lawyer in 1995. After a scholarship at the National Research Council in 1998, he was hired as a lawyer at the Legislative Office of the Ministry of the Environment. Andrea entered the judiciary in 2000. He served as a first instance judge until 2011, when he moved to the Court of Appeal of Rome where he served until 2015 in the department for competition law and civil affairs. From 2015 until 2024 he sat at the Intellectual Property Court of Rome dealing with intellectual property and antitrust competition cases. Andrea was also active in the field of international exchange and bilateral judicial cooperation. In 2024, he has been appointed Deputy Advocate General at the Supreme Court of Cassation where he continues to deal with intellectual property and competition matters. Andrea is the author of various publications on intellectual property and competition law as well as lecturer for the Italian National School of Judiciary.
