Court Court of First Instance Judge Full Bio Marije Knijff finished her law degree in 2003 at Leiden University in The Netherlands. After a 4-year training in practice, she was appointed in 2008 as judge at the District Court of The Hague, at first as a judge in criminal law. From 2014 she was appointed as an IP judge and became senior judge in 2018. In 2014 she completed the legal components of the professional education of patent attorneys in The Netherlands. From 2015 to 2023 Marije served as spokesperson, explaining decisions of the District Court of The Hague to journalists (including the criminal case against the suspects of the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17). In 2024 she was appointed legally qualified judge at the Milan section of the central division of the Unified Patent Court.
