Full Bio Addick Land has been appointed to the Court in March 2025. His technical focus is in the following areas: electricity, physics and mechanics. Professional Experience in Intellectual Property Addick Land is a registered Dutch, Belgian and European patent attorney with more than 40 years of experience in patent prosecution and patent litigation in the fields of ICT, electronics, aerospace, MedTech, submicron (semiconductor), manufacturing, and related computer software. He represented domestic and international clients in more than 100 opposition proceedings mainly at the EPO and in dozens of court proceedings appeal proceedings in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, UK, US and Scandinavian countries. He started his professional career in the patent firm of Arnold & Siedsma in 1984 in which firm he became a managing partner in 2006. He passed the European Qualifying Examination (EQE) in 1988 (the Dutch in 1987, the Belgian in 1990). He attended the US Patent Academy, while being an intern in an US IP firm. He was a CEIPI tutor and a member of the C paper committee (opposition) of EQE. Education Addick graduated from Technical University Delft with a MSc in applied physics. He helped building a special purpose computer, hardware and software, for simulating a large number of VanderWaals interactions simultaneously (parallel processing). He also studied law at Erasmus (Rotterdam) and IP at Nijmegen university.
