Standing judges scheme at the Court of First Instance Standing judges are designated for extremely urgent actions in all divisions (Rule 345.5 RoP) during all working days.As a general rule, applications marked as “extremely urgent” are formally checked by the sub-registry and assigned to a judge the same day if it is lodged before 4 pm, and on the following working day if it is lodged later, unless the particular situation of the case – to be indicated to the sub-registry of the relevant division – requires the Court to proceed differently.In order to ensure that the Application will be handled in the most efficient and speediest way, Applicants are invited to contact the sub-registry of the division concerned by the envisaged action as soon as possible – and at any rate before 4 pm on the day of filing with advance information about the intended action.
