Launch of the first training for all UPC appointed judges On 17 January 2023, the Advanced preparatory training for UPC appointed judges was launched in Budapest. On 17 January 2023, the Advanced preparatory training for UPC appointed judges was launched in Budapest, with the participation of the legally and technically qualified judges of the Court. The training aims at facilitating an in-depth understanding of the Rules of Procedure of the UPC. It is organised as a partnership between the UPC and the European Patent Academy, with the support of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office. The intensive 5-day training takes place until 21 January 2023. President Klaus Grabinski underlined in his welcome speech the significance of this event, since it is the first time when all UPC judges have the opportunity to meet and to start discussing the future practice of the Court.
