Full Bio Torsten Duhme has been appointed to the Court in June 2024. His technical focus is in the following areas: electricity and physics. Professional Experience in Intellectual Property Torsten Duhme is a registered German and European patent attorney with more than 25 years of experience in patent prosecution and patent litigation in the fields of automation technology, communications, radar, optical metrology and related computer software. He represented domestic and international clients in more than 100 opposition proceedings at the EPO and GPTO and in dozens of court proceedings and respective appeal proceedings. He started his professional career in the corporate patent department of Robert Bosch GmbH in 1996 and joined German IP firm WITTEWELLER as a patent attorney trainee in 1998. He passed the European Qualifying Examination in 1999 and obtained a legal degree from Fernuniversität Hagen in 2000. After his German Bar examination in 2001, he was an intern in a U.S. IP firm before he became partner of WITTEWELLER as of 2002. Education Torsten graduated from Universität der Bundeswehr in Munich with a diploma in electrical engineering and was awarded for his diploma thesis by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker VDE in 1989. He obtained a Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a thesis about “Modelling and Mathematical Simulation of Linear Time-Varying Systems” in 1996.
