Technical focus Gérard Myon primarily assists major industrial groups and SMEs in developing their patent portfolios, and defining and implementing their protection strategies. He has solid expertise in various mechanical and electrical fields and regularly represents parties in oral proceedings before the Opposition Divisions and Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office. He handled the technical side of many patent infringement cases before French and European courts, including with infringement seizure measures, and before some courts in Asia and in Northern America. Professional Experience in Intellectual Property He started is professional career in 1988, at the European Patent Office, as a patent examiner, in the field of pressure and dynamics control for vehicles. In 1992, Gérard Myon joined SAMES, an electrostatic spraying facility integrator, as patent engineer and later became legal manager of the company, in particular in charge of all intellectual property and contractual issues. He joined LAVOIX in 1995, as French and European patent attorney. As a director of the firm, he is particularly in charge of the Lyon and Milano offices. He is an active lecturer at the Centre Paul Roubier, a renowned research and training entity for industrial property law and strategy in Lyon. As a former treasurer general of AIPPI and a former president GRAPI, the only regional group of AIPPI, Gérard Myon is involved in this international association.
