Court Court of Appeal Judge Full Bio Emanuela Germano, has graduated in 1979 from the Law Faculty of the University of Turin with a mark of 110/110, cum laude and honourable mention, with a dissertation on criminal law. Immediately after graduating, she trained as a solicitor, obtaining the title of lawyer, and working for a number of years as a lecturer in criminal law at the University of Turin. In 1981 she became judge. During her career she has always acted as a civil judge, first at the Court of Turin and since 2010 at the Court of Appeal of Turin. In April 2015, she was appointed President of the Chamber at the Court of Appeal of Turin. She has dealt with civil law, bankruptcy law and commercial law. Since 2003, she has been a member of the specialized section on intellectual and industrial property, of which she has been president since 2015. She is also President of the Fiscal Chamber, second degree, of the Valle d’Aosta (Italy). She has participated in numerous meetings and conferences, as a speaker, in Italy and abroad. In the field of intellectual property, she attended seminars and congress at the EUIPO (Alicante) and at the EPO in Munich, as well as in competition law at the European University Institute in Florence and at the faculty of law at the University of Valencia. She is the author of publications on both civil and criminal law.
