Full Bio Anders Hansson has been appointed to the Unified Patent Court in June 2023. His technical focus is in the areas of applied physics and mathematics. Professional Experience in Intellectual Property He has worked as an attorney in Swedish private practice firms, and as a commercialization manager in the patent assertion team of Ericsson IPR & Licensing. The transfer of standard-essential technology, including FRAND licensing practices, are topics of particular interest to Dr Hansson. He contributed to several legal commentaries. Anders Hansson has regularly been called to sit as technically qualified judge on infringement, validity and entitlement cases before the Patent and Market Court and the Patent and Market Court of Appeal. These national courts operate a system of mixed panels similar to that of the Unified Patent Court. Education Anders Hansson graduated from upper secondary school (lycée) in France in 1998 He pursued undergraduate studies at Lund University, obtaining an M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics in 2003. After doctoral studies in Mathematics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, he was awarded a Ph.D. for work on the spectral theory of partial differential equations. After entering the patent attorney profession in 2007, Dr Hansson passed the European Qualifying Examination in 2011 and the national equivalent in 2014, and he obtained the Patent Litigation diploma from CEIPI Strasbourg in 2013.
